General Demonics Test Fire Failure

Last Saturday (12-2-23) General Demonics, a large military contracting firm responsible for many of the Impyre’s tactical and strategic systems, conducted a test of it’s experimental LiDAR Upgraded Chatty Energetic Penetrator(LUCE-P) missile system.

ONN spoke with the Press Representative for General Demonics, who we interviewed regarding the test.

ONN: “What went wrong with the test today?”

GD PR: “There was some sort of malfunction with the guidance system, basically the missile kept going back and forth between two positions until it ran out of fuel.“

ONN: “Do you have any idea what caused the failure?“

GD PR: “Our teams are chasing down multiple issues at the moment but we place the highest likelyhood on there being a blind spot in the LiDAR array of the LUCE-P”

ONN: “What would a blind spot in the LiDAR mean?”

GD PR: “Well basically the LUCE-P knows where it’s going at all times, it knows this because it knows where it isn’t, but when you have a blind spot you can’t accurately know where you aren’t, within reason, so the LUCE-P missile thinks it is proceeding to a place where it wasn’t, when in reality it was heading back to where it was, and now being in a place where it isn’t, attempts to go back to where it wasn’t, and the blind spot keeps it in this loop. At least that’s our working theory.“

ONN: “Is there anything else about the LUCE-P you’d like to discuss?”

GD PR: “Sure, you know obviously we think once working this will be the ultimate tool in our aresenal for Chatty Penetrator capability. the CE-P we currently use is one of the most successful penetration platforms in the Impyre. Obviously we take our obligation to Demonites everywhere very seriously and would like them to know as much as possible about the weapon system we are developing with their in-cum taxes. I think when we’re finished the LUCE-P will be something they can all be proud of.”

The LUCE-P development project is currently running 2 months behind and over budget. General Demonics also told us it’s doing everything it can to bring the project to production.

This is ONN, signing off.
